Advantages And Disadvantages of Fossil Fuels

Some of the Advantages and Disadvantages of Fossil Fuels are discussed below. So let us check it out some of the advantages and disadvantages to know more about Fossil Fuels which are discussed one by one:

Advantages of Fossil Fuels are:

  1. Fossil fuel can be easily stored and transported form one place to another.
  2. Fossil Fuel sources such as coal , natural gas and petroleum helps to generate electrcity.
  3. Today we can say that the fossil fuel are the major source of energy used by the world.
  4. Fossil fuels are easily available .
  5. Easy to set up power station or power plant to generate energy from fossil fuels.
  6. These fossil fuels are highly stable compared to other sources or substances.
  7. They are cheaper than other non-conventional forms of energy.

Disadvantages of Fossil Fuels are:

  1. Fossil fuels when burnt generates carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and other gases which affects natural habitat.
  2. Environmental pollution due to gas generated from vehicles  and coal power stations.
  3. It is the non renewable source of enery so we need to use fossil fuels wisely.
  4. More space is required to set up power plant to generate enery using fossil fuels, as a result the aquatic and wildlife is affected.
  5. Coal mining is difficult and also dangerous task, health of humans is affected during this process.
  6. Prices of fossil fuels are rising day by day.
  7. Fossil fuels liberates carbon when burnt hence they contribute to global warming.

Disadvantages & Advantages of an GC

Disadvantages & Advantages of an GC.

Gas chromatography (GC) is an analytical method which is used for the separation of an volatile substance from a give mixture of compounds which are very difficult to separate and analyse.

This type of chromatography separates the molecules based on the volatility of a substance.

The substance with more volatility will separate out quickly while the substance with less volatility will elute out slowly.

Characteristics of Debentures

Check out Characteristics of Debentures discussed below. So let us find out some points on characteristics to know more about debentures.

Debentures Characteristics :

Debenture holders do not carry voting rights and debenture holders are considered as the creditors of the company.

The interest on debenture is to be paid at a fixed rate, and the rate of interest is decided during the annual general meeting of the company.

Debentures are secured and  repayable after a fixed period of time.

Tablet coating: "Orange Peel Defect"

During tablet coating Orange peel defect is observed due to inadequate spraying or spreading of the coating solution.

Before the drying this coating solution causes bumpy or orange peel effect on the coating.

It is caused due to high spray rate and high pressure.

This defect can be prevented by thinning of the polymer solution and adding additional solvents.
